Reesink Horses-USA

Anyone studying bloodlines behind most of the famous horses competing in the world's top dressage competitions discovers one glaring fact; most are from Holland, northern Germany, and surrounding areas.

It makes sense then to shop at the source, in Western Europe. But it isn't so easy to stay apprised of what's for sale overseas and learn about opportunities when you live in the United States. The great majority of International competition horses aren't found on websites, but rather are offered for sale through professional connections.

At the end of 2023, upon hearing about Wolgemuth's stepping down as CEO and selling his digital marketing company, Eugene and Bas Reesink reached out to Steve. They asked him to fulfill a new role: US Representative for Reesink Horses, to help solve this problem for American clients.

The vision is to make it easier for American dressage horse buyers to stay in tune with the European market of top International horses, helping them find and procure them before those dressage prospects are bought up by other countries.

The business model made sense, and so did the partnership. With a 30+ friendship behind them, it was like "the band was back in town" for another tour. Before Wolgemuth's entry into the business world, Reesink and Wolgemuth were selling more horses to the USA than anyone and their success gained a lot of momentum. Horses like Verdades, Ravel, Florencio, Robin Hood (Sue Blinks), Florette As, and Contango are just a few of the horses that Reesink Horses and/or Wolgemuth discovered and/or sold.

Since that time, Eugene Reesink carved out a niche to focus on only top international horses and breeding stallions and the success stories continued to build. Few professionals in the world have discovered (and in many cases, later sold) so many great horses: Ampere, Vitalis, Florencio, Spielberg, Vamos Amigos, Franziskus, Cum Laude, Vaderland, Calimero, Florett As, Valverde, Frankie Lee, Sting, Schumacher, Contango, Charmeur, Don Juan de Hus, Kaiman, Darwin, Sir Oldenburg, Florentiano, French Kiss, Ibiza, De Beau, Rolls Royce, Rosevelt, Dubrovnik, Soreldo, Samsam, Onassis, McLaren, Taurus, Follow Up, Fonq, Vision, Floyd TN, Red Viper, Filou, Mauro Turfhost, Nashville Star, Dark Rousseau, All at Once, Daxx, Du Monde, Fiji, Filou, Lowlands, Mauro Turfhorst, Nashville, Ozzy TN, Security, Succession, Toto Power, and Vino Tinto.

In 2020 Reesink Horses partnered with trainer, Dinja Van Liere, developed a breeding station with world-class stallions in Uden (near Den Bosch), and began collecting some of the world's finest young horses to develop as approved stallions and/or International competition horses.

Meanwhile, Steve Wolgemuth was busy with some other business endeavors. He built a nationally recognized digital marketing company that grew to several million in revenues, was named Small Business Person of the Year (out of 15,000 businessmen), and authored The Crucial 12 which won the coveted International Gold Medal from Axiom Awards in their marketing/sales category of best business books in the English speaking world.

At the end of 2023, Wolgemuth sold his company and  one day later was offered and agreed to become the US representative for Reesink Horses, B.V. in the Netherlands as his "retirement job."

Moving forward and now with Reesink's son, Bas Reesink on the team, the company has a fresh infusion of youthful energy and sharp business savvy. Together with the sage wisdom from his extremely successful parents and American business partners it's an exciting time for everyone. Together the team comprising Reesink Horses - USA is prepared to help discerning dressage riders find special horses in ways that sole proprietor agents (in Europe and in the US) simply can’t match. But there's more. As a next generation of talented dressage professionals emerges, Reesink Horses US stands ready to help them grow a profitable sales business to supplement their teaching and training incomes.
