Where Is This Exclusive Collection Coming From?

This is the most intriguing aspect of this opportunity. To explain it, you need to understand the European professional landscape. There is a relatively short list of top dressage horse buyers and stallion owners in Holland and Germany. Year after year the same names put forth the lion's share of top horses. These individuals have an uncanny and proven ability to find the world's best young horses. But only a portion of these top horses receive breeding licenses and even fewer are on track for keeping long term. By May, owners are ready to reduce inventory even from the better portion of their collection. That's where we come in. We'll pull together a collection of several dozen interesting young horses from top horse sellers

Fly over magnificent tulip fields in full bloom as you touch down in Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport in early May and begin a VIP buying experience you will come to treasure; not just because you'll discover one magnificent horse after another, but because you'll find that special equine partner, one that will make your dreams come true.

As you are reading this, Reesink Horses is actively curating a collection of ~30 young horses (3 & 4 year-old) to support this unique sales event for USA buyers. We understand the the best way to find the ideal horse is in the context of seeing many good candidates. By having this number of high-quality horses to review, you'll be sure to discover a very special partner.

Better Than An Auction!

Auctions can be interesting as you are able to see a few dozen horses at one time. But anyone who has experience, knows there are a lot of risks, especially as a foreign buyer. Why take any chances?

​

This event will have a curated collection of young horses that you can research, preview, even discuss with the trainer. There is no auction or gavel ending your chances to buy, so you can take your time and get adequate veterinary review in both Europe and the US before making a final decision. 

​

Come alone and join us, or bring a friend or trainer and enjoy a few days of horse shopping heaven. Reesink horses will provide a driver, organize your hotels, and make your entire trip a VIP turn-key delight.

For some, it's hard to get away. That's not a problem, you can shop virtually from the USA with the help of Steve Wolgemuth and team Reesink. We will organize and facilitate a private buyer's concierge service for select clients in which we'll stream live review of horses, our phone to yours.

 

This one-time event is designed to serve our USA clients in a unique and innovative way. We'll preselect a large number of horses in advance, many of which have not yet been seen by other buyers.

Our Guarantee:  We promise to act in good faith in representing all of our horses with honesty and transparency. If you find a horse you are interested in buying, we guarantee that we will disclose any relevant aspects of the horse's health and behavior that we are aware of at the time of sale. Prior to purchasing any horse, you will have every opportunity for a thorough veterinary inspection and Reesink Horses will provide full cooperation in service to your horse's pre-purchase veterinary exam. In the unlikely event that Reesink Horses fails to reveal any known and relevant disclosures about the horses health or behavior, and your horse proves unsatisfactory as a result, we will work hard to find a fair resolve, even if that means taking the horse back in exchange for another one. It is important to us that buyers find the right match and are extremely happy and successful with any horse they purchase. We guarantee that we'll work toward a good outcome for you.

Background

Spring is the ideal time for this event, and here's why...

​

Each year, the top percentage of young horses in Germany and Holland are presented for licensing, but relatively few are selected. Often, top young stallions are passed over for reasons related to their potential as sires and not because of their potential for dressage performance. European breeders and investors accumulate an inventory of such horses which they need to reduce. It's a golden opportunity for buyers to have a first look at yet-undiscovered top talent.

By Springtime, many young horses have reached their 3 or 4 year old birthday, are started under saddle, and some are gelded. As a buyer, you can get a better sense of what a young horse will become. Spring is an ideal time to shop for young horses and having a curated collection of top horses makes this a special opportunity. 

 

Logistics

If you are planning to travel to Europe to join us in person, plan to be there 2-3 days. This will give you enough time to see a nice selection of horses, and then retry your favorite one or two. Your shopping experience will be tailored to your specifications and we are there to assist you as needed. If you need someone to come along and help to test-ride young horses with you, we can accommodate that request as well. 

​

While it is preferred to sit on a horse before buying it, sometimes traveling just isn't possible. We understand and can accommodate. With advanced notice, we can organize a virtual buyer experience where we'll try horses for you while you watch through a video conference via WhatsApp. You can ask questions, help to direct the test-ride, and even talk to the trainer about the horse's feel. Enjoy a virtual visit with the horse in the crossties, have a close up virtual look at it's legs/feet, and even have a virtual visit with your horse in the stall.

This is not an open event per se as we can only provide this level of individualized service to a  limited number of people. If you might be interested please use the form below to apply. Can I Preview Any of the Horses?

Yes, but only if you have signed up. In fact, we have videos of several currently posted online for your review. Because of the exclusivity of this event and out of respect to our family of buyers, we only make these previews available to those who have signed up and are considering attendance. Please know that while preview videos are helpful, we cannot guarantee that any horse you see in advance will still be on the market in May. Also, there will be horses that will be available in May that we have not video'd prior to the event.
