Leave Your Prospect In Europe!

Many horse owners understand the advantages of keeping a top young dressage prospect in Europe rather than bringing it to the U.S. But without a strong network of resources or a trusted European partner, this can be challenging.

That’s where Reesink Horses USA comes in. We offer a full range of services to help you purchase, raise, train, and manage your young horse in Europe—professionally, transparently, and with your goals in mind.

Young Horse Services

On-Site At Borculo Auction

We can be your eyes and ears on the ground during one of the Netherlands’ most prestigious foal auctions. Whether you’re bidding from across the globe or simply can’t attend in person, we can:

  • Inspect the foal in person and share a detailed assessment.

  • Arrange a live video chat so you can see the mare and foal in real time—before or after bidding.

  • Get prompt answers to your questions directly from the auction’s team.

With our help, you’ll have “insider access” that rivals being there in person.

Foal Purchase Management

When you buy a foal—privately or through Borculo—you pay upfront, but payment is held until the foal is weaned and delivered healthy and sound. We:

  • Coordinate veterinary inspections by top equine vets.

  • Confirm health and soundness before funds are released.

  • Handle all arrangements, ensuring a smooth and secure transfer.

Foal Management

Many overseas investors keep their foals in Europe for the world-class care and affordable costs. In Europe, young horses have unmatched opportunities—whether for breeding, championship competition, or premium resale.

We offer:

  • Choice of small peer groups or a quieter setting with one or two companions.

  • Full care, including hoof trimming, veterinary oversight, and health monitoring.

  • Regular updates, including videos where possible.

  • On-site visits arranged during your trips to the Netherlands.

Young Horse Management

Your horse’s second year marks the first major career milestone:

  • Veterinary Assessment: We recommend a full set of radiographs to identify any serious issues before further investment.

  • Stallion Evaluation: For colts, we assess if the quality warrants stallion licensing.

  • Introductory Training: Light in-hand work, longeing, and eventually work with soft, non-restrictive side-reins to evaluate canter technique.

Our young horse program in Eibergen, NL has produced legends like Florencio, Franziskus, and Vitalis.

Backing Your 3-year-old

The first experiences under saddle are critical. We partner with skilled young-horse riders known for their patient, confident approach, giving your horse the best possible start to its ridden career.

3-5 Year-Old Management

A top horse deserves a top rider. We connect you with Europe’s most talented young horse trainers and riders to:

  • Show your horse at breed shows, young horse championships, and performance tests.

  • Present at national and world championships where appropriate.

Our network includes elite veterinarians, farriers, dentists, and grooms—ensuring a true team approach to success.

Breeding Management

With our breeding station in Uden, NL, we can manage your broodmare, from selecting the stallion to ensuring a successful pregnancy.

Exporting Assistance

If you choose to bring your horse home, we arrange every step of the process, including:

  • Pre-export preparation and veterinary requirements.

  • Advising on optimal timing to minimize costs, such as avoiding USDA CEM quarantine when possible.

  • Connecting you with trusted agents on both sides of the Atlantic.

Selling Your Horse

Europe remains the global marketplace for elite horses. We can help you sell in Holland or Northern Germany—where the buyer pool is larger and better suited for high-level prospects.

Even for horses with limitations, our network offers more sales opportunities than typically available in the U.S.
